Archbishop Makarios of Australia met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, responsible for the issues of Greeks Abroad, Georgios Kotsiras, on Tuesday, October 24, in Athens.
During the meeting issues related to the needs of the Greek Diaspora of Australia were discussed, as well as the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between the Greek State and the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
The Deputy Minister of Greeks Abroad congratulated Archbishop Makarios for the multidimensional work carried out by the Orthodox Church in Australia for the preservation of the national and cultural identity of the members of the Greek Diaspora. The Archbishop wished Archbishop Kotsiras all the best and to effectively carry out his responsible duties.
